Of
the 17,500 students that frequent the educational institutions
of the Rimouski-Neigette MRC, more than 15,000 study in Rimouski
each year.
The
Commission scolaire des Phares ("Lighthouse School
Board") welcomes more than 850 people in the Vocational
Training Sector in two institutions located in Rimouski and
Mont-Joli.
There
are some 43 programs offered, including: Bricklaying and
Masonry, Building Design, Soldering (various),
Mechanics (various), Industrial Design, Repairs
(various).

The
Rimouski Cégep (Cégep
de Rimouski)
offers 27 programmes, many of them technical: Forest Management,
Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Building Mechanics,
Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, Informatics,
and many more.

The
Université
du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) offers more
than 20 full time programmes such as Bachelor degrees in Engineering
of Electromechanical Systems, Informatics, Management
and Accounting Sciences.
They
also have 47 certificates and short programmes (undergraduate
- part time), including: Informatics, Management,
Informatics Management, Financial and Commercial
Services, Organizational System Information, and
finally, 24 programmes at the Master and Doctorate levels,
including: Engineering, MBA, Project Management,
Regional Development, Maritime Resource Management,
Oceanography, and Accounting.
