Bordering the St. Lawrence Estuary, the maritime gateway for North America, Rimouski-Neigette is located on the largest estuary in the world.

Located in the heart of Québec's maritime high-tech area, our region benefits from the presence of major players in the ocean science and technical ocean science sectors: l'Institut maritime du Québec (IMQ), l'Institut scientifique des Sciences de la mer (ISMER) of l'Université du Québec à Rimouski, Maurice-Lamontagne Institute (MLI), and the Centre de recherche et de formation en transport maritime et intermodal (CFoRT).

Numerous partners are financially involved to promote, support, and reinforce Eastern Québec's expertise in this sector of activity as much at the levels of research and economic development, as at the levels of job creation and infrastructure projects.
