The ultimate goal of the Society for the Economic Promotion of Rimouski (SEPOR) (Société de promotion économique de Rimouski - SOPER) and the Local Centre of Development (LCD) (Centre local de développement - CLD) is to provide set up solutions, training, and personalized support for industrialists interested in setting up in our MRC. These two organizations support the economic and industrial development of the region. Their main objectives are:

• To favour the expansion of currently established businesses
• To diversify the industrial activities of the region
• To promote the region to outside investors

In the near future main development efforts will be oriented toward sectors of the new economy and the processing businesses linked to ocean sciences. The priorities of the organizations and of the region are welcome and support.
